Children Take a Ride on the Dragon Boat

The Museum of Chinese in America, at 215 Centre St. in New York, held an early dragon boat festival on June 7 – two months ahead of the traditional dragon boat festival, in which participants race huge decorated vessels. Geared toward children, the event was designed to teach them about Chinese traditions, and let them try their hand at dragon boat construction – albeit on a small scale.

Video journalist Anne Lagamayo watched the children at work.
